The following images are not meant for children. Regardless of the fact that these happenings were not posed – the participants were merely having fun with me – or making fun of me (I’m not certain).
It seems that every culture tolerates the antics of the young. And unlike our culture, you will never find any Amish who persist in this after the age of 18.
To those who would admonish me with “you should never have taken the picture” – I would merely intone that I’m recording that which I see in this unique Amish village – and for me to censor or pass judgment on these scenes would run counter to the philosophy of this body of work. Naturally – I hope that no one is offended & perhaps would find a chuckle at this attempt of humor. |
